A synopsis of Paul Thurrott’s feature on Vista:
1. Secure Startup: So that your PC isn’t tampered with after your last log out and also saves you from electronic attacks on storage drives.
2. Better Parental Controls: Vista makes web filtering possible; you can also allow certain content types only, blocking file downloads, setting time restrictions and whoa! make games settings too.
3. Super Fetch: It is a new feature which provides better memory caching and better performance using a USB memory key.
4. Better Firewall: It supports bidirectional filtering. Companies can also manage all IP security configurations.
5. Windows Update will now be accessible via Control Panel.
6. Better Power Management: Has Win XP’s Hibernation feature and Mac OS X - like Instant Sleep mode.
