eWEEK Labs has been testing the Windows Vista builds for more than three years and their evaluation of the final code of Vista has revealed that Vista is a significant improvement over XP.
Vista integrates loads of new drivers and subsystems that has made the OS more stable and robust that its predecessor.
The Vista upgrade in enterprises is no slam-dunk as it features new UAC features, which will help the companies to effectively lock down their systems and prevent any data leak.
Though for a Vista upgrade companies will have to spend on upgrading their infrastructure as well then also eWEEK believes that the OS will be value for money as it is less vulnerable to any crashes.
Vista will also have an upper hand on other OS like Mac and Linux as it has better support for open source alternatives such as Openoffice, Firefox and hundreds of other utilities, which effectively cover up any loopholes that might be in the OS.
A full copy of Vista Business Edition retails for $299, and upgrade copies sell for $199. Microsoft wouldn’t share its volume-license pricing with us, so consult your reseller for pricing on the Vista Enterprise Edition.
