Sun Microsystems will be refurbishing Solaris operating system and try and make it much easier to use than it currently is.

The company will also be borrowing some features from its rival OS, Linux. Both Solaris and Linux aim at security and to compute major tasks. In order to achieve these two things they have to sacrifice on its GUI and make it difficult to work on. Some new variants of Linux are already easy to work on.

This difficulty to work on has been a major hurdle in the adoption of Solaris. Solaris is one of the main varieties of the Unix family of operating systems. Sun Microsystems is looking forward to borrow some features from Linux so that even Solaris can be made easier. With this the company thinks that Solaris will become even more popular than its rival Linux.

This new system will be based on the original Solaris kernel. They finally want to develop an operating system which is easier to work on and offers better hardware support and is much better than Linux in all spheres.
