The Exobiology branch of the NASA Ames Research Center has chosen bioinformatics software from CLC bio. NASA has chosen this software to analyze sequencing data, which considers around hyper-saline microbial mat systems found in Baja, Mexico, and Solar Lake, Egypt etc.
Exobiology is an interdisciplinary field. It combines astronomy, biology and geology, focusing on the study of the origin, distribution and evolution of life. It is also known as astrobiology.
Microbial mat communities are representing some of the earliest known microbial communities on Earth. CLC Combined Workbench is quite useful to manipulate the sequence of data recovered from exobiological analyses. The software is useful for tracing all overlapping reactions. The wide variety of CLC’s software tools are very useful in searching programs in silico restriction digests, alignments, rudimentary phylogenetic trees, among a lot of other features.
One of the worst thing was that you have analyze data in different programs, with CLC’s software has eliminated these manipulations also. Really this software is very nice to analyze and sequencing the data.
