Microsoft has released the first public beta of Longhorn which is the codename for next gen Windows Server operating system from the company. The advantage of using Longhorn is that it helps in making the servers quite secure and handles file sharing and web traffic and is quite easy for techies to manage their earlier version of the software.
It has a network access protection feature which checks the computer of the employee when they log on to the company network and in case the antivirus software is not up to date it fixes the problem automatically. One can even install the software in pieces and managers can decide as to which task the server needs to perform and less software would mean lesser security problems. One of the most exciting feature of Windows server is installing as many functions as required and now this software stands in line with Linux.
