A decade just flew away and we thought it was just the day before that the first Palm handheld was rolled out.
Remember the PalmPilot debut in 1996? It rolled out with PalmPilot 1000 and 5000 128K of memory, a 16MHz DragonBall processor, Palm OS 1.0 and a 160×160-resolution display. Palm shipped 1 million PalmPilots within 18 months, but legal reasons made it drop the word ‘Pilot’ from the name.
It was a mixed response for the Palm with sales getting stuck the 3 million mark for several years.
Anyway, congrats Palm for the tens years!
