Not many of you would have thought that there are many WebOS available. But here is a list of the ten best web based operating systems that are fully functional.
First of all let me tell you what a WebOS means. It is a virtual operating system that runs in your web browser and mimics all the tasks that are otherwise run by the desktop OS.
1) Craythur:

This is the newest OS that features better interface and good looks. Mostly all the interface is transparent more like the Vista’s Aero Interface. The OS is in very early stages of development and we can expect to see more from it in the coming future.
2) Desktoptwo:

This is a Flash based WebOS that requires you to initially register. After the registration you will be allowed to give it a try and you will also get your own mini-site and an email address. Other features include Search, clock, MP3 player, RSS Reader, IM, Openoffice, HTML, editor, notepad and many other applications.
3) EyeOS:

This is a bit different than the other products. It offers you to download EyeOS Server files and then install them. The only negative point for the OS is that it is a bit slow. The interface is good and you also get an editor, calculator, address book and some other useful applications.
4) Glide:

This is one of the best WebOS available. It offers you free registration and a couple of plans for you to choose from. It also requires verification via SMS.
The OS is Flash Based but is not working on the Windows Interface designs. It lets you upload and store data up to 1GB on its server. The problems being that the interface provided is a bit confusing and you have to spend some time to find even the simple applications.
5) Goowy:

This also is a Flash Based WebOS but has no negative impacts of Flash. The interface is very well designed and has loads of good applications. The OS is also not as slow as the EyeOS. It also has all the standard web applications and they are good to use. Moreover the applications also open in Windows so that you can move around the web top.
6) Orca:

The OS is well designed but the main problem which will make you skip reading this is that the OS does not offer a support for Firefox. Mainly this OS is still unfinished and we can expect to see a much better version in the near future.
7) Purefect:

This is also in the early stage of development but we can say that the OS will emerge and can become the best WebOS available. You should check the OS in a couple of months. The WebOS is definitely showing some promise. Presently the WebOS is having a less applications like calculator, memory game and File Explorer but soon they will be adding some more applications.
8) SSOE:

The developers of this OS have confessed that the Kernel of the OS is just 10% completed. All in all the interface is badly developed and ugly. I don’t see many people using this WebOS. No more details are available since around 80% applications that icons do not work.
9) XinDESK:

This OS is not having an alpha or a demo version that you can try out before spending some dollars. The developers claim that this OS is so easy to use that people with minimal knowledge can also use it. If you are confident about the claims made by the developers then the only way to check it out is to buy it and then try.
10) YouOS:

After going through the WebOS trial version you can find out that there has been some serious coding behind the product. It includes a wide range of applications. The applications can be moved around the desktop in a similar fashion as you can move the windows in Windows OS. The only problem is that though the interface is very well developed but the design part is a bit shabby with no emphasis on good looks. Overall if you consider the functionality part then we can say that the WebOS can become the primary contender in the field.
