The new OS by Microsoft doesn’t seem to have broken the jinx plaguing it for quite sometime now. After Longhorn was ’stolen’ MS had to device the Vista. The beta version of the software though had been given to MS employees for trial last year, problems still refuse to go.

Now MS has hinted at the possibility of delaying Windows Vista if it ‘does not meet quality expectations’.

The main man associated with Vista, Microsoft’s Co-President of the Platforms, Products & Services Division said during an interview in San Francisco, Jim Allchin said he still expected Vista to ship by the end of 2006, which is about the same time he was due to retire. However, he couldn’t rule further delay.

In his words:

Where we sit today, things are going according to plan, and we’re feeling very good. But, I always like to preface that as I did with Windows 2000, Windows XP: quality is the thing that will dictate if we’re ready to go. So if we have any problems in quality, I’ll slip this product. It’s the thing that is at the top of my mind.

So what do we see MS doing now when already talk of bulky OS software becoming irrelevant is gathering voice every day?
