
Microsoft has moved up for the next version of its highly reliable BizTalk business process management server that enables companies to automate and optimize process. Based on RFID line, the beta version of BizTalk server is known as BizTalk Server 2006 R2. It will be official released in September this year.
BizTalk Server 2006 R2 is the successor of BizTalk Server 2006. It has rich data exchanging options supporting Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) data and Availability Statement 2 (AS2) data for EDI over the Internet. The server has also some additional enhancements to B2B accelerators for HIPAA, HL7, SWIFT, and RosettaNet.
The BizTalk Server 2006 R2 supports a wide-ranging RFID platform infrastructure by brining a device abstraction layer and management tools for connecting to intelligent RFID devices. It includes a complex event-processing layer for applying filters, alerts and transforms to RFID events.
The latest version is compatible with Vista and Office 2007. The price of the server is $35,000 per CPU for the enterprise edition and $8,500 for the standard edition. Nearly 100 channel partners have registered for the beat version and other 90 partners are using the software with RFID, claims Microsoft.
