Microsoft has already faced some controversy regarding its WGA notifications. But taking the anti-piracy drive another step further Microsoft will soon be launching an updated version of the tool for Windows XP users.
Earlier in June the company had updated the tool when it found out the tool was behaving like a spyware as it was connecting to the company’s site every time the system was rebooted.
The latest update includes changes in the installation procedure so that its more clear about what it is doing.
The updated notifications display a warning on the users system if the copy the user is running on his system is found out to be pirated.
Users can get the tool via Automatic updates or by Windows Update. Users can also get a legitimate user license if needed and the process for doing so has already been improved.
The tool is still optional to install and user can leave it if he does not want to have any WGA checks of his computer.
