
Microsoft’s Mac Business Unit has announced that the company is all set to release the latest version of the Office suite for Macs.
The suite has been developed to enhance the collaboration between the Windows users and their Mac friends. The new suite will run on all Power-PCs and the new Intel Based Macs.
Microsoft has based the application on the inputs from the customer survey that was conducted to know what all the customers demand from the new Office.
The new features will be a ‘Publishing Layout View‘ that enables users to create layout rich documents such as newsletters and fliers with desktop publishing tools. Other enhancements include Ledger Sheets and My Day feature.
Office 2008 for Macs will also include a new user interface that will introduce the Elements Gallery. The company has also commented that the goal of the suite is to provide better functionality without sacrificing on the distinctive looks.
The application will be released some time in the second half of this year.
