Microsoft has accelerated its efforts to persuade the European lawmakers that it will change the way how it does business by announcing that it would develop software to enable computers to run multiple operating systems at the same time.
Jason Matusow, a senior director of Microsoft’s intellectual property licensing commented that they not only have to work together with their friends but also with their competitors.
Microsoft said that it would accelerate the development process of its software, Virtual Hard Disk Image Format - a software that will allow computers that are currently running on rival products like Apple’s OS or Linux to simultaneously run Windows.
As a part of this effort Microsoft plans to convene an advisory panel of 35 chief information officers from Global companies to recommend how this plan can be achieved.
Microsoft will spend a whooping $7.5 billion on the research and development of this project in 2007 financial year.
