Microsoft has not received the kind of response it wanted with its new operating system, Windows Vista. Many businesses including big guns like Intel stated that they will not be upgrading to Vista until the Redmond giant ships in the first service pack of Vista. The company had earlier stated that they will be shipping in the first service pack in late 2007 along with Longhorn Server, then due to some reason they postponed the launch until sometime in 2008. Now they have came back to square one and are anticipating the launch of Vista SP1 sometime in the second half of 2007. Businesses are hoping that Microsoft will be able to cater to the numerous problems in Vista in their next release and till that time they have opted to be with Windows XP. Vista is much more stable than XP was at the time, however it cannot still be termed as the most secure operating system in the market as Microsoft anticipated it to be. This could be good news for people waiting for Vista SP1 but a bad news for those waiting for XP SP3 as the launch of Vista SP1 will surely delay XP SP3 by some months which is now scheduled for a 2008 release. Microsoft till now has not made any official confirmation on the release of the first service pack of Vista, but we hope to get an official confirmation soon. The reason for this guard of the launch date is still not known. May be Microsoft wants to make another “WoW” with this release, something they completely missed out with Vista. Image Via: Bit-Tech
