If you are annoyed to see more and more Office 2007 files being thrown in your way by your innocent, early-adopter Windows colleagues and friends, it’s time to get hold of the Microsoft Office Open XML File Format Converter for Mac, which can be downloaded from the big M’s website.
This preliminary version of the one-and-only converter tool claims to give support to Word 2007 files and is one-way that is: the resulting RTF output is able to be resaved as Office 2004 .doc files, however not as Office 2007. docx files. Besides, the users are also very soon being provided with support for the latest PowerPoint and Excel document formats later this summer.
Microsoft says,
We do not, however, want to see you inadvertently mess up any critical documents you are working with.
