Microsoft has released the much-awaited WMP 11 on Monday.
The player, which was scheduled to release last week, was finally released with some brilliant features. The software is posted for free download at the official site of Microsoft.
WMP11 includes built-in support for Urge which is a subscription music service co-developed with MTV.
Earlier this month Microsoft had released its new version of Internet Explorer taking it to version 7. WMP11’s launch makes the second main launch for Windows XP before the Lunch of Vista, which is scheduled to release in January.
This new launch has overshadowed the company’s new Zune Player, which is due for its release in mid-November. WMP11 is available for free download but Zune Player will cost you $250.
The new Media Player offers support for WMA Professional and WAV lossless playback.
