Hardly a few days have passed after the Windows Vista made its debut; the latest news around the hot tub is that Microsoft is sniffing the possibility of a successor to Vista codenamed ‘Vienna’ anticipated for a 2009 release. Well, Vista has shipped about two and half year after XP SP2 and it is expected that Vienna will also take approximately the same tome to hit the streets.
Ben Fathi, corporate vice president of development with Microsoft’s Windows Core Operating System Division, said:
We’re going to look at a fundamental piece of enabling technology. Maybe its hypervisors, I don’t know what it is...Maybe it’s a new user interface paradigm for consumers...It’s too early for me to talk about it...But over the next few months I think you’re going to start hearing more and more.
I will keep my ears to the ground to let you guys know more on the same since more and more info on the Vista’s follow-up will be crowding the web shortly.
