Microsoft is all set to release their latest Operating System at the end of this month. The company has also planned to use more than one method for the distribution of the OS.
The Redmond Software giant has also announced that the whole OS will be available for online download. I know that will surely test the limits of your bandwidth and the company has also not commented any remuneration if the connection fails in between the download.
Other applications from the company like the Microsoft Office 2007 will also be available for similar download. The catch here is that only the residents of North America will be able to get their hands on the diskless versions and the rest of the world will still have to buy the traditional disks of the OS.
Microsoft is also making the upgrade options easier and customer friendly. They have announced that the users who wish to upgrade from a lower Vista edition to other high end editions will be charged as follows:
• Home Basic to Home Premium at $79
• Business to Ultimate at $139
• Home Premium to Ultimate at $159
• Home Basic to Ultimate at $199
Moreover the users who will need additional licenses for using the OS on more than one computer will have to pay an additional $50 for the extra license.
