Skype boys-founded Joost has further opened up for the developer community by acquiring none other than OnTheToob, which is a programming guide keeping users upto date on Joost’s IP TV shows.
Even though, Joost is tight-lipped about the acquisition, the media reports confirm that OnTheToob founder, Hal Schechner will develop new features for Joost. It includes a improved user interface and faster information availability system for Joost users.
With this acquisition, OnTheToob is now an integral part of the Joost. It means that there would be pre-determined RSS feeds as well as customized channels and RSS feeds for Joost’s 238 channels and more than 10,000 programs.
The acquisition came just a few days after the introduction of API feature in Joost. Thus, it is more or less apparent that Joost is now inviting developer community to create more niche features for its users.
