This is the first time Search Engine giant, Google will make its desktop tool for Mac users. Google announced the availability of Google Desktop for Mac users from Google’s Mac OS X software page. Google’s desktop tools manages the content of hard drive, including applications, PDFs as well as web history and makes it searchable for Mac users.
Google Desktop is universal application for Mac users, which requires OS X 10.4 without any charges. Google also allows developers not to re-write plug-ins specifically for Google. Google desktop allows users to use any Spotlight plug-ins and also maintains Spotlight’s privacy list.

Search Engine giant allows users to search their desktop through Google desktop search without the need to go into Dashboard. Users can use two taps on the Command keys, which will bring up a small search window as user start typing, it will start showing results that whether it is document or an application. It offers you wide range of results according to your query. If your query is matching with search result, you can click on the bottom of the results. It will launch your web browser and open a page, which is exactly look the Google search page on the web. The result page will tell you how many document Google Desktop found. Even you can continue to search your hard drive as well as give the option to search the web for your search query as well.
Google Desktop offers you to maintain your privacy and also take permission before recording your Google Desktop results. Even it helps you to find out deleted files. Google Desktop creates cached copies of all your files and other items, so that whenever you want to see, you can view those files.
