Google will soon launch Google Earth 2006 election tool that will indicate the country’s 436 congressional districts with stars on the 3D map of the country.

Clicking on the stars opens a pop up bubble that has the information on the candidates in that race.

This window will also include links to news, images and Web search results on candidates and will also carry information on where and how to vote.

The project was created by two members of Google Earth team who created it during the 20% of the time allotted each week for engineers to work on their own projects.
