Joanne Rutkowska, a researcher at COSEINC, a Singapore based IT company states that the anti-virus software that are commercial available are not that good as they lack the killer instinct.
She states that such applications are effective only against known malware and do not actually keep the systems in good health.
She says that a better solution to this problem will be to remove all anti-virus tools from your system and be cautious while surfing the net and do not open any anonymous E-Mails or any PDF or PowerPoint files, this will not only protect your computer but will also speed-up the performance of the system.
