Cronto Limited has launched anew secure user authentication and transaction verification technology, named vuSign, which combines the latest communications with image processing and cryptographic techniques to deliver online security at the University of Cambridge.
vuSign is a unique secure visual code, which appears on the web as users logs-in. The user reads the code with a vuSign Client, USB based security dongle, a camera based phone reader or an optical hardware token. It verifies the transaction details, which is displayed on the device and enters back into the browser, a one-time authorization response generated specifically for the requested transaction. If genuine provider has generated the visual code, then only it can be decoded. The genuine user device can only produce the correct response for the current transaction.
Elena Punskaya, CTO of Cronto, said,
Simply logging on along with the user is no longer enough; the requested transaction will not go through without the user’s specific approval - vuSign transaction authorisation response.
While Igor Drokov, CEO of Cronto said,
As online fraud becomes ever more sophisticated, the requirement for a secure and safe method of authenticating users has become paramount as organisations seek to safeguard themselves against a range of fraudulent transactions. vuSign can significantly reduce fraud with a low cost, scalable and user-friendly approach that is easy to deploy and maintain.
