The release of Microsoft Vista is just on the cards but one question remains, Will Microsoft develop another OS or is this the end...!

This can be the end as Microsoft is out of ideas and it cannot borrow ideas from Apple as it to have the same problem...Lack of ideas.

If Microsoft wants to be in the race of OS, then there is only one option and that is to develop an OS specially designed for the multi core computers.

Designing such an OS is not an easy task and that has not been even tried by any company.

Such an OS should be a universal parallel processing OS. Designing a parallel process application is itself like climbing Mount Everest forget about a Parallel Processing OS...

Even if Microsoft can design an OS, which can only use multiple cores to multi task programs, coordinating them among the CPU, the OS and memory then they can say that they have completed half the task.

But does Microsoft have the talent for this challenge and if it has then how long we have to wait for such a technology.

Microsoft has had an unfortunate history. Whenever it tries to do something new it gets attacked by companies which are providing third-party applications like antivirus for the OS.

Microsoft does have good time to think about the Parallel Processing OS or we can say that its future is doomed. Microsoft will launch a new OS in January and will have 3-4 years to think about the new OS.

If Microsoft cannot do this then there is a bright chance for Linux and some other OS Manufacturing companies to put down Microsoft in the OS Biz.

There is a great opportunity for everyone...Lets see who wins the race...!
