Microsoft is releasing Vista and Office 2007 next week.

Both of them also have to be validated with licenses else they will get into a low functionality mode. These enhanced anti-piracy measures from Microsoft will stop or at least reduce some piracy.

Both Office 2007 and Windows Vista incorporate different checks. Office 2007 will enter a low functionality mode after just 25 times the software is run and the mode will make Office 2007 a totally useless software.

On the other hand you will have to go through the checking procedure for Vista within 30 days of installing the OS else it to will enter a low functionality which will stop many critical applications from running at all.

These measures though will stop piracy but will also have a negative effect on the adoption of Vista.

Analysts also believe that these measures are nothing but unnecessary burdens as there are not many pirated software in enterprises. And Reduced functionality and popups about non genuine software will do nothing but irritate people.

Such measures will also make the users think about the alternatives and that could be Microsoft’s worst nightmare coming true.

With Rumors that the Pirated version of Vista already available, Microsoft will have to make new plans and they can get back to activation during installation with License Keys as in all other versions of Windows. This method though is easier to crack but will not make the users think about other possibilities.
