Hackers have pounced back again and have kicked Microsoft on the weakest area, Vista.
I earlier told you that Pirates are selling fake copies of Vista on the Internet and that was when Vista was in the RTM stage. They named the pirated version as Vista Billgates.
Making the scenario even more worse hackers have now released a new pirated version of the OS and have named it after the Wife of Bill Gates that is Melinda.
Attackers have hacked the Volume Activation 2.0 system that requires each copy of the OS to be activated through Microsoft’s servers. Hackers have spoofed the KMS server of the software giant that allows the corporations with 25 or more computers on a network to activate Vista Installations.
The process goes by installing VMware Player, boot the image that is supplied with the OS and use some supplied VBS script to have the Vista machine get the activation from the local server. That’s all you are done and your OS is valid for the next 180 days. After that you still require a valid KMS product key. I think the hackers also know this and will help you in some time...!
