Adobe Systems has released the alpha version of Apollo.

The software lets users run web application online and offline.

The first Beta of the application will be released sometime this summer and the final version will be released in the second half of 2007.

The early version is developed for web designers and programmers.

Apollo has been designed to bridge the world of Web applications and desktop computers. Applications that have been written for Apollo function like normal web applications but act like a normal installed software.

Once the software is readily available then the users can download a runtime to their desktop PCs to run Apollo applications.

The alpha version of the software will run on Windows and Macintosh. It will also allow people to use HTML, JavaScript and Flash programming and also display Adobe’s PDF format.

The company has plans to release a Linux compatible version once the Windows and Mac versions are fully developed.
